Celibacy in religion (ritual, choices, choice, spiritual, organization)

I don't know. It seems to me that a religion that's not in favor of life, is in favor of death. They may call it "spirituality", but it's really death that their worshipping. That's my opinion of it.

It's transcending death. Escaping from the cycle of birth, life, and death.

If anything "transcends" death, wouldn't it be LIFE? Not an individual life, but life as an ongoing expression of energy.

Why would we want to escape from the cycle of life? I am hugely grateful for the gift of life, and of existence.

I understand what you mean, but for us its a choice between the physical (life and death), or the spiritual (the life beyond).

But you can't know anything about the "life beyond" except what you imagine it to be. Why do you choose an unproven fantasy over the wonder of real existence? What is it about this life that makes you want something else?

That's the basic question of why anyone should follow a religious belief. One is called by deity to follow a path.
