I often wonder, how do other Pagans and Polytheists believe the Universe (or simply Earth itself, whichever) came to be?
Now obviously Creationists and Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc, belief the Earth or Universe was created by God, but what of you Pagans and Polytheists? We've all obviously heard the creation myths by our seperate Traditions or Religions, but do you believe them? Really? And if you do, can you pass on your particular religion's or tradition's creation myth please? And if not, how do you account for the Universe's existence? Has it simply always been here? If so, how?

I believe the universe to be the conciousness of the God and Goddess, and is infinite in time and space. Since their is two separate conciousnesses that are the same, yet opposite, the dualistic nature of the universe is created.

Creation myths are just that: myths. They are symbolic stories and not literal accounts. I don't personally believe they were ever intended to be taken as "fact", as we understand the word these days. That just isn't the purpose of myth.
I really don't account of the universe's existence at all. I find it to be a meaningless question. Maybe it was just "created" by someone. Maybe our current mainstream scientific theory is correct, or maybe we're wrong like so many times before. Maybe it truly is eternal. In the end, I don't see what difference it makes or why we care so much.
