They aren't around by that name, but their theological descendants are. The Brethren were started by a guy named John (I think) Darby, who was initially a devout member of the Anglican Church. After much inidividual Bible reading and study, he broke off from the church and began teaching what he felt was the appropriate interpretation of Scripture, gathering followers and what not. The group he began became known as the Plymouth Brethren, because Plymouth was where they initially held meetings (I think, I have to check on that one). After the Brethren's movement expanded and Darby died, the theology became known as Dispensationalism, a system of theology which divided Biblical history into dispensations (typically seven). They are sola scriptura and sola fide believers, and are also distinguished from other theologies because of their total distinction of Israel and the Church. That's the SparkNotes version, anyways, lol.
