At the risk of repeating something someone else said cause my computer is slow and I haven't read all this thread, I venture we are different to animals by virtue of being able to pose these questions without eating eachother. If a lion thought he was better than you it would eat you. We get to argue the pros and cons of this on the web. There is no guarantee any other animal could abstract a conscious experience from the bare bones of reality like we can either. Maybe we are special after all

I do; I believe as Katzpur does. That is where our 'commonality of beliefs' stops though, because I believe in reincarnation.

There are many lessons to learn, as an animal. And maybe that is what makes me think that animals have superior qualities to man.

Take the pet dog, for example, unconditional love, complete trust, and acceptance.

(for an example of acceptance, I only need quote our dog; she loves to sleep on the setee in the evening. Mostly we put a blanket on the setee, but, if we are in the middle of something important, she looks at me for permission; if I deny it, she merely walks off to settle down elsewhere, with her tail wagging, showing she is content. Now that is true acceptance).

In the Baha'i Writings, it's said that animals manifest one of the attributes of God (and we contain them all, at least potentially).

I've always wondered if the attribute manifested by dogs wasn't loyalty. Unconditional love would work as well.

One wonders what cats get. Sleepiness?
