Now that I think about it, it's not Mary Poppins, but Julie Andrews. Think of it, as a supposed 'Nun' in The Sound of Music she disobeys the father of the household and encourages the children to sing and play. She then seduces the father and together they resist the authority of Austria (so what that the authority happened to be Nazis, isn't it better to be a good citizen?). And what about that Victor/Victoria thing... Harry Potter, move over. lunamoth

It's because Harry Potter has nothing whatsoever to do with Disney...

I remember when all this criticism for Harry Potter came about. the Christian Research Jounal had an article about it's criticism and even The Lord of the Rings movies. The basic point of the article was that when one considers the moral lessons given in the movies and how the "witchcraft" in these movies are truly science fiction and not a valid representation of true witchcraft, there is not one Biblical problem with these movies at all. I like how someone brought up the Chronicles of Narnia in this thread which were written by a well noted Chritian author that would be commended by the same people who attempt to criticize the movies mentioned in this post. Any attempts at criticism of these movies comes from true ignorance of what real witchcraft is and what these movies are really trying to promote. I have children and have seen all the Harry Potter movies and really enjoyed them and was impressed at the moral lessons presented in these movies. I am looking foward to a new one and there better be one darn it!!! there was just too much left to be continued and I just don't have time to read the books. As far as Mary Poppins goes, it's just a little too girly and kidish for my tastes.
Sincerely, SoliDeoGloria
