Aristotle taught a way to truth and that was through observation. Some try to find God through scientific observation, some say if they can't see him, He isn't here but since the creator doesn't live with us here the only way to observe God is by observing those who live His principles, His will. For example if God wants us to love each other than we know from that commandment some of the nature of God that God is about love.
However there is another way to know God and that is through prayer. If there is a God, God would want us to know that He is and who He is and what He wants for us and what He wants from us. He would want us to know whether He created the world and why and why He created us, etc... He would want a way to communicate with us and so the Holy Spirit is the great communicator. He can communicate with our spirits and reveal to us the nature of God and His will for us. He would know how we should live our lives because He is wise and would know what is best for us. I'll paraphrase a statement in the movie Ground Hog Day. Bill murray's character said " maybe God knows everything because he's been around forever" God has learned from His own observation what has a good effect and what produces the opposite, a negative effect. He wants to share that wisom with us. You may try to find God looking through a telescope but you won't find Him there but you can find God through prayer |

God_is_Love is it ok to assume the topic of debate is: the ways to know god?
and further stipulate your arguement is through 1) observing how followers live 2) prayer If not can you correct me as to the topic of debate. |
