It's bad news to put anyone on a pedestal.

BTW: I don't see how you can argue that women are not angels with religious texts, and then conclude with the metaphor some of them are DEVILS. Where is your proof for women being devils? Is there a religious text for that, or are you taking one metaphor literally within a religious context and yet taking a similar metaphor symbolically. Surely you don't think that some women are actual devils (composed of or possessed by evil).

I agree, in theory. I would never get involved in a relationship if all parties didn't recognize they we both equal, and deserving of the same amount of celebration and love. However, that celebration tends to take its form based on the people involved, and to allowing the person currently doing the celebrating to use their unique gifts in doing so. For example, had I a significant other, I would treat them to a belly-dancing performance. (No, not the 'naughty' kind, either.) If they were artistically inclined, a simple sketch of a daisy would be a wonderful present, since it's my favorite flower. I think it's okay to put someone else on a pedestal, just as long as you are able to recognize that you deserve to be on one of an equal height.

Totally agree, FeathersinHair. The fact that I personally don't have a "significant other" as you put is is due to so many variables anyway that I'm waiting until I graduate and am very stable in general before I even think of trying to find someone to share every little eccentricity I have. Shouldn't take too long after 5 years of waiting, though, lol.
P.S. Love the Belldandy pic. Oh/Ah My Goddess so rule! |

Yay, thanks! (I know I've asked this before, and I apologize if you've already answered, but is that Shigure on your avatar? He's my favorite character from my favorite series!)

Nope. Hatori. Very close, and good reference to the anime anyway. I like Fruits Basket too.
