The thing that disturbs me most about Scientology is how selfish it is. there is no altruism. The only selling point it has is that the person who enters the Church of Scientology will have a more prosperous and happier life.

There is no im[ulse to serve God or others, only to serve one's self. I have yet to see an altruistic program from Scientology put in effect.

The only selling point is that membership will benefit the believer materially.

Bad premise for spiritual life.

regards,
Scott

Well, I'm sure the President of the Church of Scientology tells the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, right?

There has been no one new making posts to this thread. It seems that everyone who posted recently has their opinion and their opinions do not seem to really change.

And the topic has shifted to whether or not CoS is a business
(see Scientology - religion or business? You decide!)

Perhaps a moderator can now merge the two threads since they are so similar.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and the second thing i wanted to post was about the visilibity of CoS accounts,
transactions, etc. To my knowledge, no org small or large has EVER given
its patrons even one iota of an idea of their balance sheets. If the hidden
agenda of CoS is to make $, then let the balance sheets be revealed and
reviewed by independent accountants and let their summaries be posted
publicly.

So would it be safe to say that CoS has something to hide?
