Default What is a "Christian"!?
My understanding IS.. "Christians believe the words of Jesus, Christians believe IN Jesus, All who believe the words of Jesus have ETERNAL LIFE!"

Christians have eternal life because they believe the scriptures..(ALL the scriptures)

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

My point... Some people say; "CAN'T lose salvation"!
Some people say; "You CAN lose salvation"! BOTH..
Both claim to be CHRISTIAN!! Clearly..
My QUESTION: Clearly one is WRONG, clearly one can't be Christian!!??

Some people say "Baptism saves"!
Some people say "Baptism does NOT save"!
Both claim to be CHRISTIAN.. One MUST be wrong!
One of the two can't be Christian!!

Religious debate...
Debate about WHAT/WHO is "Christians" and who is NOT!!
Am I wrong to think both CAN'T be christian!!??
Am I suppose to believe; CHRISTIANS do NOT have to accept the words of Jesus?????

Surely someone has a comment or answer!!!

Yes, I think you are wrong.

IMO, "Christian" means "follower of Christ", not "person who's right about everything."

Yes, there are some points of doctrine where the spectrum of Christian belief is so wide that it's impossible for everyone to be right, but that just means that at least some of these people are mistaken. I don't think this necessarily makes them not Christian.

BTW: doesn't the Bible say (in Romans, IIRC) that worrying about the quality of others' faith shows lack of faith itself?

Another thought: in the Gospels, the Apostles were CONSTANTLY getting stuff wrong. Jesus had to correct them all the time. Were the Apostles not Christian?

Given the wide range of Christian denominations and beliefs, I think your definition isn't very accurate. Catholics, Jehovah Witnesses, and evangelical "messianic Jews" are all Christian groups, and yet they are so different in belief and action.

I must ask... "Can the Holy Spirit ERR?"
IF.. There are people that believe different then can you say they are NOT being led by God!??

Can you say "Satan has his hand in the mix?"

Can you believe the verse.. "A house divided, does not stand"? OR..
"Divide and Conquer"!

I point out.. IF..
If the Holy Spirit did err and he did lead man into a lie.. The Holy Spirit would not be perfect thus he would NOT be God!
God is perfect he cannot err!

So back to the first point.. Do not CHRISTIANS use the scriptures to find truth..
Do the scriptures lead into err..Or do men reject the scriptures and still think they are CHRISTIAN??

Well, I don't believe that the Holy Spirit leads any Christians at all (mainly because I don't believe that the Holy Spirit exists), but regardless, let me put things another way:

Consider everything that you think a "perfect" Christian would do. Every single thing that you think denotes righteousness. Whatever those criteria are, the day you show me someone who consistently meets all of them - someone who is a perfect Christian with no flaws whatsoever - is the day I'll eat my hat.

A christain is someone who realizes they're a sinner, destined to spend eternity in hell, and that only Christ can save them and give them eternal life. That's what saves you NOT believeing you can lose your salvation or what the right way to get baptized is, etc..so yes, people can believe different things about the theology but still be christains.

Or, perhaps a Christian might be someone who believes that they are fearfully and wonderfully created in God's image, and that creation was deemed by God "good." Perhaps they believe that sin is not a character trait, but a misunderstanding of who they are.
