From another thread...I quote myself....
Picture yourself as a disciple. You follow the Carpenter and have done so several years. As He approaches the Temple stairway.... He sees the High Sabbath in preparation. It's shoulder to shoulder inside the Temple. He takes a chord and begins to tie knots into it. There is only one purpose.....a scourge. As you watch....you can only hold your breath.... He's about to do something....harsh. He stands in the Temple and makes the announcement....'get out!' No doubt...someone laughed. Then the beatings began.....and continued....until He stood alone. This is the act of a powerful man. And if it is true that He has control and command of angels..... There could be one behind you as you type you next post. In all fairness.... I am not quoting scripture.....I'm just saying..... |

I suppose if I were treating the holy place like a whore house I might have something to worry about...

9 times out of ten Jesus is portrayed as having no humour (which given that Jesus does use humour in scripture is odd) and staring strangely at who knows what and in pictures often time he is pictured effeminate, almost weak. This was a Carpenters son according to the text, when carpentry was back breaking work compared to today, this would have been a strong man, a man who survived prison in such a time, who commaneded a legion of followers far greater than the 12, and in an atmosphere where the scribes etc hated them, it is shear folly to think such religious zeal on both sides never erupted into scraps. Then I look at John the baptist, him and Jesus appear to me as wild mens men but with an intelligence that commanded, not weakling poets. I am a none believer these and thats just my opinion on his nature in life, though back when I was a devout Christian my opinion was much the same. Does anybody else see that side?

Every approach...but the one that counts....
Picture life after death..... If you can't.....how do you have opinion here? And stepping into that life..... You are likely to meet this Fellow.... and would it not be this same Fellow?...... deciding if you proceed..... or be turned away. |
