Just curious.
Is there any actual proof of this? |

Q. How do the Abrahamic faiths explain this?
A. I doubt any care enough to bother.

They would have to be aware of it to explain it. Since disbelief is all it takes, I don't see why they would feel the need to explain anything.

I don't see why they would disbelieve something that occurs even today. Many people seen these bodies hover in mid air, shrink to the size of a dinner plate and finally disappearing. This is common knowledge among Vajrayana practitioners, even western ones. Nobel prize winner, the Dalai Lama mentions it in several of his books. And if the body doesn't shrink all the way to nothing, it leaves behind whatever is left, and this is stored. Last edited by alwayson; 01-30-2011 at 02:45 PM.. |

Yes there is, but I don't have it. You would have to go to Tibet. Secondly, this isn't a party trick. This is the most sacred thing in tibetan buddhism, because rainbow body means someone attained Buddhahood. If you know any Tibetan buddhist practitioners, they are not allowed to talk about anything. And trust me, they don't give a flying **** whether you believe it or not. And they definitely don't advertise rainbow body phenomenon. You can find more information in several books though. |

The most sacred thing? Are you sure?
Because, well, it sounds a bit too flamboyish to be important.

Yes because rainbow body is when someone achieves Buddhahood on physical earth. Most people are of lower capacity and can only achieve Buddhahood in the bardo, at best. |
