I really wish I wasn't hypersensitive to what people think of me. Well, it's not that I care what they think, I just wish they'd wait until after I'm gone to laugh and whisper
Today in class I was staring at this girl's bracelet 1) because I have the flu and have been spacing out like hell lately and 2) because I wanted to know what it says (it was a white bracelet, and was kind of hard to read). And by her logic, me staring obviously means I want to screw her. So she starts acting all grossed out and whispers and goes "Ew, ew!" and acts like I'm about to rape her in the classroom or something. It really shouldn't bother me as much as it does, I know. I made a choice to be who I am an not pretend to be anyone else... but it bothers me. Sitting and listening to people giggles (you know, the way people giggle when someone has done something wrong) and give me sideways glances for more than a half hour is very disconcerting, especially when I'm trying to learn. Just... yea, feeling kind of out of it. Advice would be welcome. |

So what stopped you from asking her where she got her braclet?

I'm painfully shy. I was afraid if I said anything to her she'd start on the whole "EW YOU'RE GAY" thing.

Jensa-- You should have told that girl that you don't find her attractive at all--in fact, she's probably the most hideous girl you've ever seen in your life (she could stand to lose a couple of pounds, no less). Perhaps that would put her at ease.

Jensa, sorry you had that happen to you. I hope you get over your flu quickly, though.
