Gay Marriage leads to Animal Marriage???

There are some who believe that by giving gays the rights to marriage, we’d be opening ourselves to future personal-rights movements such as the right to wed your pet. As crazy as this sounds, it’s true. What are your thoughts…

How absurd can you get? Marriage is a legal contract. To have a contract, you must have two parties who are capable of consenting to such a contract. Fido cannot consent. :roll:

Marriage is a human invention, there is not marriage in the rest of nature. Even if it was allowed and animals were able to debate about it, they would find it stupid and unecessary.

I personally see this only as an attempt to invalidate gay marriage. Many people are for gay marriage and many are against it. They all have right to say what they have to say, but what is rather distracting is that some people start talking about "animal marriage" and "polygamist" all the sudden and how approving gay marriage would lead to these. It just doesn't make sense, and it's only a pointless argument(if it is categorized into argument).

Well, these are the same people who believe letting two dudes or two babes get hitched to each other will somehow destroy their own marriage. In 10th grade they flunked geometry when they could not construct a basic proof.

Why not a Roman Emperor married his horse, Caligula I believe it was. But other than that I just think the entire statement is silly.

I don't really like the concept of marraige at all, but if there was a way to prove that the person's pet wanted to be married to them, then who cares? If they both want to be married, then whatever... Of course, there is no way to prove it.
