I couldn't find your family photo's off of that link on your red/maroon website. Is that link there to show that you can have digital photo's online, or was I supposed to search for something specific?

I'd like to talk about your beautiful avatar, if that's ok with you. I think that it's relavent because we see it on your RF webpage and because of some of the comments that you make there.

Do you know what the Fool represents in the Tarot?

I am certainly no 'expert' on the tarot; I use it mainly for meditation and guidance. I have found that there is an element of individual interpretation and meaning applied to the cards.

The way I have learned to interpret 'The Fool ' is as follows:-

We begin our journey with the pure, untouched soul, not yet of this world. All wisdom and knowledge, containing the total essence of God, are contained in the innocence of a newborn baby, physically present in the world now, yet still enveloped in the higher consciousness - Quote from Eileen Connoly Tarot -The complete Hanbook for the apprentice.

I see the fool as being one who is at the begining of the very long path to wisdom. In life, he is naive, unprepared, ready to travel wherever life and his intuition leads him. In the pack that I use now (The ryder/waite - the 'original' design), he is depicted with his possessions on 'the brink' - it is for him to have the courage to take a 'leap of faith' trusting in God to lead him towards eternal light.
(I was actually using a pack my younger son had bought for me; with a diffferent design - again demonstrating the personalisation of interpreting the cards. On the pack I used before, 'the fool' was climbing up to the brink, daring yet naive - almost a blank sheet of paper.
Strangely enough, I changed to the new pack when I used 'the Fool' from my previous pack as my avatar; I cannot remember the forum member who responded that he prefferred the original design - but that was enough to galvanise me into getting the original pack. There are some truly beautiful prayers in the book that I use.

I have just come in to switch off my computer t3gah before going to bed; I will look into' the missing link' tomorrow - there should be a link to online photo albums; I'll let you know as soon as I get to grips with it. Thanks for pointing that out to me!

The thing that I wanted to point out about the Fool, this person "on the brink," is that it is a card that denotes potential. Where ever you are now, whatever you might have gone thru in your life, this card shows that there are still possibilities. The Fool is not trapped into whatever came before. He is always able to be something else. A good thing to keep in mind for someone who has struggled with physical and mental health, especially depression where one often can't see potential possibilities in one's life. I think you chose your avatar quite wisely.

And that Fool would be me Michel . However , I only wanted to say that I liked your avie , and made a footnote .... ok , perhaps a bit too long to be called a footnote , that I personally perfered the Fool from the Ryder / Waite deck . I never intented that you should change . But now that you have , I do hope that you enjoy the deck .

After point about the card that I would like to make is the reason why it is called The Fool . It is not a name that he gave his self , but a name society gave him , for they do not understand him . Nor does he appear to care . Which is why I said that to me , it is a rebel's card , in a way . He has the courage to take that step . { and as I said to you in the PM , I see the dog as society nipping at his heels , which is why I perfered the R/W deck }.

But that is the beauty of the Tarot . It can be read so many ways . Each card has so much symbolism .
