I forgot to say...it's not the first time I've had a rude customer like that, and it's not the first time I've been told to get f'd...but it always manages to **** me off, because 99% of the time I didn't warrant it. In the almost 8 1/2 years I've been working there, I've had only one of those people come back and apologise for being a total wanker (and that happened last year). Had to pick my jaw up off the floor I was so surprised lol.

The best way to get back at rude people is to be really nice.
I am the King of Road Rage....I noticed that if people do something to me....I smile and wave.....they get really mad....I mean really mad...but what can they do? It frustrates them because their little brains do not know how to deal with it. |

Bastet i've spent 4 years working in fast food (used to work at burger king) and now i refuse to be mean to people working those kind of positions, especially if they are being pretty nice to me. I think it's just ridiculous how people can act to fast food employees.

I don't think working in any service job gives people the right to treat you like crap.....that is why I am a very good tipper....and I try to create less work for people. If I stay at a hotel, I clean my own room and leave a great tip under pillow....I feel that these actions help to balance out for all the idiots these people must put up with.

I'll never really understand why people are rude to customer service people. THEY have what you want, wouldn't it be a good idea to be nice to them?
Sorry you had to put up with that, Bastet. |

I guess my first response would be "Screw you you nasty B--ch" But we will not succumb to that way of thinking. Your feelings were hurt because you had done nothing wrong. It is our self control that dictates the state of the world. If we all gave in to our first impulse there wouldn't be much of a world left to live in. I am very sorry you had to experience such a viscious attack for nothing. As others have expressed to you here, you are the better person for not running after her to give her a piece of your mind. Praying for this unfortunate miserable soul is the best response. Who knows, maybe she is worried about getting beat up by some man, or maybe someone she loves has been diagnosed with some terrible illness. You will probably never know why she said that to you. Just forgive and be happy that you have a different way of acting towards people. I used to be a bar tender, so I know just how rude people can be. Now picture her drunk and imagine what she might have said.
I once had a bunch of truck drivers in the bar who kept raising their hands in the air and snapping their fingers for me to come. After I stopped laughing at their arrogance, I walked over and said, "My name is Martha, if there is anything I can get for you call my name and I will come over." "If you snap your fingers at me, they might just fall off while you wait for me to come." " I have a very large collection of trucker fingers in the back, would you like to see them?" One fellow said, " You wouldn't make it where we come from, because we like to keep our women barefoot and pregnant." To which I joked with him, "You mean a woman actually slept with you?' I laughed, his friends laughed and then he laughed. For the rest of the evening, they called me Martha.Just keep being as sweet as you are. Forgive her and forget her actions. Be thankful that you are not her. Joyfully, Martha

Sweetie...you were doing your job...people like that sooner or later during the day will get what they dish out right back at them...so don't fret ...you were doing a wonderful job and she was being just awful...I can relate to the jaw dropper deal...been there in my life...it's not a nice feeling...let alone having it come out of the blue that way. Usually when I encounter people like that I treat them even sweeter than I ever would otherwise...I pile it on...people like that can't understand the whole concept and mostly go on their way scratching their heads. It annoys them worse than stooping to their level. ![]() |
