Yep! I believe there were a few other people in the japanese government who managed to get some of the Jews out of Europe but i can't think of their names at the moment.

The heroes of the day, the 12th Sonderkommandoes:

The Sonderkommandoes were Jews that were used by the Germans to control the victims about to go into the gas chamber.....it was a horrible fate for them as they often went crazy from guilt, and were almost always killed by the German's so that no one found out what they did.

The 12th Sonderkommandoes knew that they would be killed, so they decided to destroy the ovens, to try to keep the German's from being able to dispose of bodies, and eventually keep them from killing more.
