I wanted to start a thread that discusses what traits we admire in the members of this site. I'll start the thread with a couple of traits, and hopefully, others will add traits that they respect as well.
1) A spirit of peace - people that, regardless of provocation, appear to be able to rise above the heat of a debate. 2) The ability to allow others to disagree - without feeling that are being attacked, and the need to retaliate. 3) The desire to teach. Members that go to great lengths to try to educate others, in whatever field of knowledge. 4) The ability to spark discussion. We have some members that are constantly looking for items to discuss. I find this to be a good trait. 5) The use of wit. Some people just have knack for phrasing replies while using wit. Notice that this trait needs to be balanced with trait number 2 above. Thanks, TVOR

Traits I admire:
1. Everyone is welcomed with open arms no matter what you believe in. (I have had sad experiences in other Forums) Happy to be here 2. Being able to discuss topics and learning from these topics from others point of view. 3. Allowing to learn about others because they have nothing to hide. Being Open Minded. |

I admire how some of the members in spite of being totally against what I say, can be civil ( I don't know about a specific "trait", but I like that.)

1. The difference belief systems (religions) that people incorporate in their lives. As a collector of beliefs it helps me appreciate and respect other people while educating me on the different theories of religions I was not aware of.
2. Caring community As you progress on Religious Forums you realize that everyone here is available to help and offer advice and to discuss matters that maybe you normally wouldn’t bring up within your own personal REALationships. 3. Generation X,Y and Z There is nothing more satisfying that accepting the wisdom and experience of our elders and sharing it right back to those young “whipper-snappers”. This satisfying trait also works in the other direction. Last edited by carrdero; 11-29-2004 at 11:52 AM.. |

2) Caring - amen. 3) Respect for Age - I like this one from Carredero. I think he is right - this site does seem to have a kind of "Eastern Philosophy" feel to it. TVOR
