I recieved this PM from someone who wants me to be mod in his forum. At first I was excited but as I took a closer look I started getting bad vibes. He has no posts, only like ten frubals, joined just recently, and his title said he'd been banned. His username is marlonwilkins and here's a copy of the messgage he sent me.

MoonWater, he pm'd many of the mod's on here with the same thing so we banned him for spamming the forum. His purpose on here was to recruit for his forum. Didn't realize he was pmming members. I think he wanted a bunch of us to log onto his forum. I don't think anything bad would happen if you went to his forum, we just don't want our members badgered with mass emails and usually ban blanket advertisers on sight.

as a footnote, a lot smarter spammers will realize that pm'ing a mod with their span = ban and will instead mass pm members steering around staff. If that ever happens to you guys making a thread about it is cool as well as pm a staffer online.
We want you to feel protected on here from spam as members but sometimes we need your help when it is pming behind the scenes. |
