Our 22nd wedding anniversary!
We did 2 things: 1. DItched the kids with friends of ours (wocka wocka!) 2. Found a great Lebanese restaurant where I can eat the food without fear of a reaction (huzzah!)

I woke up on Monday after being at the lake for 4 days and decided to stay for a fifth day in a row. The time I spend on the water is Nirvana to me.

Oh wow, what a week it was... We went to my most beloved childhood picnic spot on Sunday, had a cookout for friends and family on Wednesday, and we went camping with my sister and my best friend this weekend. We had a terrific week!

I went to a water park today! The best part was one ride where I went down a big steep tube and got shot out at high speed into a big bowl type thing with a dragon statue in the middle, and swooshed around and around until I got sucked into the middle and went down another awesome tube into a splashy pool. And it was a double tube ride so I got to have a friend right next to me having just as much fun, and then two others who were in the bowl with us on another tube and we were all excited and it was great. And then another ride where at the end in the splashy pool I got launched out of the tube into the pool...it was good times. I love water parks even though I'm supposed to be too old for them. : )

This week is still young and nothing interesting has happened yet....but last Friday I got a great early birthday present. A guy I've been seeing took me to a neat little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a section of downtown Richmond, VA, called Church Hill. It had a pub-like atmosphere, and was nestled in a very old, pretty neighborhood. Afterwards, we just walked around, watched the sun set over the city of Richmond from a place called Libby Hill, then ambled through the adjacent neighborhood during the peaceful hour of twilight, admiring all the beautiful old houses. It was truly a special experience, one I won't soon forget.
