What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Is there one that you really don't like? My family always read the story of Christ's birth in Luke on Christmas eve. I thought that was pretty fun. Also, my mom would always cook a "sticky ring" (a ring of bread with caramel and pecans etc) which was delicious. The tradition I really didn't like was that we were not allowed to wake my parents up early on Christmas morning so it always seemed like we had to wait forever to open presents and I was an impatient kid.

I don't have many traditions at all, but one thing I need to do (now, at least that I have it) is watch Mickey's Christmas Carol. Other than that, not really.

I had a thread on this a few weeks ago, and my list of holiday traditions on there is pretty complete.
However my least favorite is a tradition that will start this year - driving 10 hours to Michigan to see my family, instead of 2 to south NY. ![]()

Just getting together with extended family and friends, sharing a meal , and exchanging gifts. That's what I like most about the holidays.

My brother, my dad, and I (and sometimes mom and sis) would play boardgames, like monopoly and Axis & Allies . . . it was some of the best moments in my life. I miss it and I hope to have it again in the future with my son.
