They sell stuff that is supposed to attract cats to litter boxes in the pet stores... I have never needed to use this for litter training but it might help... Not so sure how well it works.

Nice that it's something atheist and theist can agree on.

Oi, ok I just need a little more advice.
I put a small box in the tub where he was going, and now all 3 of them have been using that one. So, I'm giving up, washing the auto-box I bought and returning it to the store. I hadn't thrown out the old broken one, so that's back where it was. The question is, so I get another automatic litter box to replace it, and get the same brand as the one they're used to, or do I just buy a manual litter pan in case they won't use the new one either? The only thing (other than them not wanting to use it) that I worry about with the automatic one is that the new model of the LitterMaid brand has the same sort of thin rake as the Purrforma brand that I'm going to return - it doesn't pick up the little pieces, and when the rake moves backwards litter gets stuck behind it. The problem with getting a regular pan that has to be scooped is that my husband won't go for it - right now he changes the litter pans for the automatic box every 2 days, and he'll complain until his face turns blue about having to do it every day. So, then I'll be stuck with everything around the house (changing the litter box and taking out the garbage are the only things I could get him to do...). Help me!

Well I've never used an automatic but ther are these bags at Meijers that are perferated.. you layer them in the bottom and the just grab the edges and pull them up, the litter drains out hte bottom and the *ahem* undiserables stay in the bag.
They are AWESOME! you dont' even get smelly!
