My intent is to buy a Macbook for when I go off to college, but I have some (minor) concerns. Hopefully someone here will be able to help. I'm asking all Apple users:
- Can you view the same movie files as seen through Windows OS? - Was it worth the price? For MacBook users: - How is the battery life? - What do you like best about the Macbook that can't be found elsewhere? More comments would also be appreciated.

acutally its the older versions of windows media player are free and real player and vlc are free so yes you can
i have an ibook and I have about 5-6 hours with my better battery life setting and brightness on the lowest level. it was most definately worth. It works like a gem. I bought the highest quality hardware last year around this time and the new ones are so much better its ridiculous. I'm thinking about buying a new one. It never crashes. The OS is awesome I love garage band even though I purchased logic after learning my way around it. Its easy to use. Just plug and play. It will take you a week or so if you use shorcuts, but they are pretty standard and easier to use. Fast, Fast, Fast never slows down even my dump.

- Was it worth the price? Probably not, but they're bloody reliable and as Pandafeet mentioned, they're better off virus wise (though there ARE viruses for Mac) More comments would also be appreciated. Pros: They'll last for ages and spec. wise Mac's are awesome machines. The build quality is also awesome, parts are made to last, and they just feel chunky in your hands. Great for movies/music/surfing the web/work and schoolwork and 3d design if you're into that kind of thing. Most things available for PC have some kind of Mac equivalent. Cons : If you're a gamer forget it, although you can install windows on Macs these days. They Cost a bit to repair and forget about upgrading if the specs ever get too low for your liking. It'll be cheaper to buy a new one.
