Well,I'll be..
Well, you accepted me, regardless of my beliefs or opinions.
At first, when I graced this message board, I thought it was one of those standard christian ones where they all have the same beliefs and are "concerned" about those who don't. However, I got into this board, and it wasn't as bad as I realized. Sure, I was a bit off for a short time when I joined, but then I actually chilled out and took other's opinions and advice, especially Lightkeeper's (who I was a little unfair on at first). Thanks for havin me so far! Everyone who I have p'd off, (if any) I apologise. PS: The Above is NOT bulls**t.

I think this is a common misconception about this forum from new users. We don't claim to be Christian, or even religious as a whole. This forum is for all people and ideas. Glad you decided to stick around.

Soul -
I think the best part of this site is the fact that it is not limited to a group of people with similar beliefs. To be honest, I rarely go into the Religious Discussion forums - I want to see what others have to say when faced with conflicting viewpoints. I love the fact that you'll see a new thread (no matter the topic) that will spark responses from 10 different members, representing 4 or 5 different views (or belief systems). They usually boil down to one member taking the lead in arguing the position for each viewpoint, with input from the others. It is the very essence of what this site is (at least for me) that no matter what position you take on a subject (whether the question is about morality, religion, politics,etc.) you will be challenged to defend your stance. This forces each of us to examine exactly why you hold the beliefs and values you do. Every now and then, you will question what you have taken for granted (that was the sound of a door opening). The fun ensues when these debates are held on an intellectual level. On occasion, we have to agree to disagree, but that is a natural outcome in a certain percentage of these discussions. The tough part is when you end up on the opposite side of an argument from someone that you really respect. It is rare when these debates devolve into something less fruitful. Decorum must carry the day, with room for some verbal jousting, and the mods do an excellent job of allowing us to make our point (occasionally using sarcasm and wit) without crossing the line into outright attacks on the other person. Glad that you stayed long enough to find out that the site is an excellent forum. Looking forward to meeting you on the field of deliberation. TVOR PS - ....feeling like a fool ...
