It amazes me every week how many new members we get on RF and well, it isn’t very long before they are getting bit by the Frubal bug, so I thought it would be interesting if we collected testimonies from RF members on how they collect or distribute their frublas and lent their wisdom and experience to what may soon become the most important thread to visit first since the Member Introduction thread. Just indicate which one you're giving advice on. I will start it off:
RECEIVING 1. HUMOR. Nothing makes your frubal meter climb higher than a well placed joke. People enjoy reading them as well as responding to them. It’s always good to know that even though miles away from members you can still touch them through the technological limitations of the internet.

WELCOME TO RF This is my concept of the “frubal handshake” and it is a tradition that was handed down to me by a very dear member. Nothing says hello better like a big bouquet of Frubals with a message welcoming them to their first day on the boards. Just remember this simple rule: When you see 10, Frubal again.

Start a thread with a provocative topic, and state your opinion with clarity, conviction, and with humility. Those are usually a way to invite frubals your way.

I give frubals to people when they make a point I wish I'd thought to make.
I give frubals to people when they say something witty or amusing. I give frubals to people for posts promoting tolerance and understanding. I give frubals to people to thank them for compliments they've paid me. I find I generally get frubals for pretty much the same reasons I give them. But oddly enough, I'm almost always surprised when I see some of the things people have fruballed me for. Conversely, there are times when I say something and sit in anxious anticipation for the frubals to come pouring in, and... nothing. ![]()

To get frubals, I stoop to new lows. The "Give Me Some Frubals" Thread!

I give frubals because I liked that particular post. I don't have to agree with it, or think it's insightful - it could be just funny, or made respectfully and intelligently, and that's enough.
Then I also give frubals for person reasons people who have been nice to me, people who have contributed to my threads, people who I like, etc.
