The young usually have their harts in the right place.
The establishment is always looking towards self preservation.
In these situations power wins.
In the long term and if they stick at it, the young take their place at the high table.
If they are not corrupted along the way they can then make a difference.
To do this they have to Join and work within mainstream parties and influence them first

That's what governments do. Dissent is being criminalised everywhere.

Nice film, the band sounds a little like RATM with a dodgy anthemic chorus.

Being a pessimist, whilst I agree with your analysis, the bit that worries me the most is your :-

Experience makes me think that they will become just as corrupt.

Communist doesn't mean the same thing here that it means in the rest of the world. Even at its most locked down, communist Yugoslavia had only slightly fewer rights and freedoms than western socialist states like those in Scandinavia. We were always light years away from, and in our impression ahead of, the USSR, Cuba, North Korea, and so on.

So yes, communist parties could very easily reclaim power. All they need do is appeal to those who do not wish to vote along ethnic lines. This number of people is large, but silent.

Some changes happen, unfortunately, only when the old guard dies and gets out of the way. I suspect we have as short a life as we do here for a reason -- if we all lived much longer as individuals, our species would take a lot longer to grow up.

I found the video strangely remininscent to the protests in North America when I was growing up. Heck, people protested at the drop of a hat, over just about anything.
I was just musing the other day -- what are the youth up to these days? Are there no protests just because there's no draft and that sort of thing? Is there nothing else we need to address?

We had the Labor Movement protests in the 30s, protests at the drop of a hat in the 60s and early 70s....aren't we overdue?
