Share a single imagine of some place that has a special, religious meaning for you. A picture that, when you look at it, the experience - at least for you - is spiritual.
Through all the different periods of my life, both happy and sad, the mountains around Sarajevo have been a constant. I once read a description of the city that said, "The mountains ring the city and cradle it, like hands cupped to hold something small, something precious." Bosnia's rivers, most of them, come from hot springs so their temperature is warm enough to fill the valleys with fog overnight. Sunrises in Bosnia are normally a bright, burning red. Pair these these two wonders of nature together with the beautiful backdrop of mountains whose every curve I know, and you have what is my most sacred place. ![]() Please share yours! ![]()

The St. Croix River in Minnesota:
![]() I went canoeing down this river many years ago, and the image is still very clear in my mind. I felt totally "at home." |

Well, I hang out at an area of the Puyallup river sometimes and defend it to the point of stupidity. Does that count?

![]() This picture hangs in our living room above our piano. It is a monument to a most blessed Creation, a memorial and testament to life, love and struggle. To memories saved, to joys shared, to moments that are precarious. It reminds me of what was, what could have been and what could be again someday. It grounds my mortality and vividly reflects my soul. For me, it separates the material from the spiritual. It is a space I enjoy visiting often. |

If it will ever be constructed, it will most likely be this place.
![]() Until then, I'd say this sight: ![]() eudaimonia, Mark Last edited by Eudaimonist; 08-23-2006 at 03:49 AM. |
