What was your easiest/strongest subject in school and what was your most difficult/weakest subject?
I really excelled in English (especially in writing and linguistics) and did pretty well in most of the humanities. On the other hand, I am so pathetically unable to comprehend anything remotely related to science that it's embarrassing. I swear most 6th graders understand biology better than I do.

![]() You might do better understanding science if you see it through the lens of everyday life. It really is a rather common-sensical subject when dealt with in that way. I had to teach Chemistry to a bunch of nursing and engineering students. The nursing students were terrified that it was too difficult a subject for them. In the first week I equated Chemistry, esp. labwork, with cooking, and they all relaxed and realized it was not really any tougher conceptually than baking a cake from scratch. The engineering students mostly thought they knew everything, because they were *engineering students!* Their grades didn't generally reflect their expectations. Tests in sciences tend to be very objective. It's hard to get a good grade by impressing the teacher or being a good BSer. |

Creative writing tended to be my strong suite- pretty much everything in the humanities. According to some testing that was done, my learning disability presents itself as being high in those areas and extremely low in mathmatics. (And, to an extent, the sciences.) When it's taught in a certain way, though, I love it!

Strangely enough, my writing skills always were high while my reading comprehension skills were very low. For one of my state tests I wrote an essay that scored better than 99% (and that was the highest percentage you could get) of other students in the entire U.S., but my reading comprehension scored lower than 60%. I don't really understand why that is. I did particularly well i |
