The Republic of Pathoris is a very large, safe nation, notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 89 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Education, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 85%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
Military funding has been stripped back, the people elect the Supreme Court justices directly, naturists are jailed regularly for indecent exposure, and skateparks can be found in every city. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Pathoris's national animal is the wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the wur. GO DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM!!

The Democratic Republic of Luckystrikia is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 5 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The enormous government devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Law & Order and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 36%, but much higher for the wealthy. A tiny private sector is dominated by the Retail industry.
Crime is relatively low. Luckystrikia's national animal is the clam, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the snubble.

Wow, I knew I was leftist, but not that leftist(and/or radical)^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. I think that if I created a nation-state, it wouldn't be that extreme. Oh, who am I kidding? I probably am that leftist. *waits for Darkdale's criticism*
