I haven't but when I had no control over my free time my mom made me do dance and this weird kinda cheerleading that you had to do on a stage. (I'll never forget that scar)

Well, my last two years of high school were spent as a member of stage crew. But my senior year I was a musician in our high school's production of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." The only reason I was a musician in the play instead of on stage crew is because another student and I wrote music for the play and we had to play the music (well the dance pieces). It was also the only time I ever played guitar in front of an audience as well. I miss those days... and they were only a year ago.

My debut was as a cricket! (A narrator cricket, at that.) Since then, I've been a clown, an old lady, a hag, and several more old ladies. I haven't been in a play since High School, but I really enjoyed it!

I didn't know what a pain stage make-up was to get off until I was in the play last year - and mine was just straight make-up. I can't imagine old age... |

Let's see:
I was in the school musical all 3 years of High School - (Carousel, Crazy for You, The Pirated Penzance). I've also done a few community theater productions (Fiddler on the Roof, the Pirates of Penzance). I enjoy being in plays, but I'll be the first to admit that I'm not very good at it.

I was in every high school production we had from my third year (we weren't allowed to audition before that).I was also in a local theatre group production of Fiddler on The Roof, which was very different. We filmed stuff as well as the actual live show...somewhere in some archive there's footage of me and one of the other girls on horses with burning torches, getting the animals used to having the fire around before we actually filmed burning the village. We also did some stuff at 2am in the local historical graveyard for the dream sequence.
When I was at uni I was in a local theatre group production of Godspell...we did it with a chorus so more people could be involved. I did a couple of other things with another community theatre group...something sci fi that one of the members put together, and a show called Wait Until Dark. I was supposed to be blind in that...that was a challenge.

Well, thanks to QTR's prolific theatre activities in high school, and my mum making demented rules while she was pregnant with my little brother (which she now conveniently forgets making), I was not allowed to do any extra-curricular activities - including taking up a musical instrument, and going in school plays...both of which I would have liked to do (her [faulty] logic was that I would do badly in my schoolwork with these "distractions"). These days I'm too much of a wuss to give it a try lol. In Year 10, I did get to work backstage on a school play - but only because it was part of a subject I was already doing. It was 'Sheerluck Holmes', but we had to doctor the scripts to make it more PC (changing the 'Chinese Laundry' and it's workers into some other place, and monsters
). I worked on script changes, props, makeup, backup singing, all that fun stuff. I loved it!

To a point. She just failed to see that I wasn't the Queen of Academia because I couldn't be bothered doing any more than I had to rather than because I was otherwise engaged. All those hours I spent in my room with the door shut supposedly studying...I was actually mostly laying about the place reading something that had nothing to do with what I was supposed to be doing. I'm sorry I ruined your life, but I had to.It was payback for the night I was pashing Andrew Palmer in the street and she used your need to be home in bed as an excuse to drive up, leap out of the car and carry on at me like a demented woman. Possibly the most mortifying moment of my life.
