Yesterday I was reading about how someone who, when he was a kid, wanted to be fed to endangered predators when he died instead of being buried. Being the odd person I am, I went "awwwe, how cute!", and it made me start thinking about the weird things I wanted to do or thought when I was a kid. Here's some of mine, feel free to toss some of your own in:
I wanted to be a racecar driver. I thought that if God knew everything, then he'd know how the clouds would look anywhere in the world any day of the year at any year, so he must have had a wonderful imagination to create the cloud patterns every day every where throughout time. I thought that the clouds I could see were the clouds people anywhere else could see. I thought you could determine the sex of inanimate objects (bank checks in particular) by number. Odd numbers were boys, even were girls. I thought the dinosaurs were still alive, just hiding somewhere. That's all I can think of at the moment... you guys have at it! ![]() |

I thought that girls were the ones with blond hair and boys were the ones with brown hair. I guess brown hair seemed more masculine to me. The first time I ever saw Captain Kangaroo (you're too young to remember him, but some of the older posters will), I seriously thought the actor (I think his name was something like Bob Keeshan) was not a human being, but a talking walruss. That's what he looked like to me. (This is fun! It's really taking me back!)

When I was a kid I thought if I wore camoflauge people couldn't see me. It made crossing the street to my friends house a very fearful experience.

i had many strange thoughts as a kid...
I thought that somewhere in the world, someone was doing and thinking the exact thing I was... I thought that butterflies were reincarnated people. (this was because butterflies only live for a short time... and i thought that if a butterfly landed on you, that it was a past relative, letting you know that it was all alright) I thought that whenever you could see light beams through the clouds that God was trying to tell them something. ....there's more, i'll remember later... |

Oh, I remember another! I used to think that when we went to heaven, we just played all day and slid down rainbows. I remember the rainbows in particular, because that's what I told my mom when my great-grandmother died when I was 7.

I also used to think that God made me EXACTLY as he wanted me. I thought he made me "blind" (i have terrible vision) so i could see his message better. I thought that he would decide how long my hair should be, what color it should be, and how straight my teeth should be, and let myself be completely natural because God didn't want me to change, I was perfect to him.
I always used to wonder why people didn't go to Church naked because God sees everything anyway. |

Santa Clause, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy!
Apart from that sort of stuff I think I didn't really think too much about abstract stuff.
