I dare say that recognizing gay marriage, legally , would be answering the prayers of lawyers for increased business... There is nothing wrong with that I suppose... What is the issue anyway... Is it civil rights or affirmative action for gays ... They are not really the same... Some courts may argue differently... If you love someone, Good ... Why must it be dragged through the system. It seems to lose something in the legal translation. I wish everyone The Peace Of Heaven... Thank You...

When same-sex couples adopt, only one is allowed to be the adoptive parent, and the other parent has no legal rights. What this means is, if the "legal" parent gets run over by a truck, the state can step in and take the kids, and there's no recourse. I have a HUGE problem with this. Even if I didn't care about the feelings of the remaining parent (and I do!), what kind of trauma would it do to the kids to lose both their parents at the same time! This sort of things just disgusts me, and the sooner the law is changed to protect GLBT families, the better. Not being able to visit in the hospital is downright stupid too. Patients should be able to choose who they do and do not want to visit them in the hospital. I was personally witness to a situation where the partner of a patient was not allowed to visit, but the abusive parents were and the patient, in a weakened state all drugged and after surgery, had hell on wheels trying to get the abusive parents taken out of her room. Sorry, that just isn't right either. |
