Currently, what does the world need more of? Compassion or Knowledge?
Be aware that compassion effects peace and mercy. In light of all the terrorism and wars, the world require more compassion? What of the desperate poverty-stricken people around the world? Every 3 seconds, a child dies of poverty... ![]() On the other hand, knowledge effects greater understanding of nature and the further development of science. New adaptive development in viruses and pathogens is producing ineffective antibiotics and vaccines. Knowledge could also lead to more efficient energy systems and healthier lifestyles. ![]() So which do you believe the world needs more of?

I would say the knowledge to be able to channel compassion effectively! There are so many issues around the globe, like infanticide and genocide, that are in need of dire attention, that we have no clue how to combat effectively. Compassion without a proper strategy won't get too far.

I say compassion.......
We could get by for a long time on our present knowledge. Compassion is more greatly needed right now in our history... |

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. And you may quote me.- Elwood P. Dowd (James Stewart) from the movie Harvey

Yes, it seems the two are extremely interrelated.

I suppose you're right. It would be great to have humanity unite in compassion and then move forward together in knowledge.
