Default Toasted cheese or Grilled cheese?
Which do you say? I've always said Grilled cheese, and I was quite old (perhaps in junior high school) when I learned that people called it Toasted cheese. And then Beckysoup reminded me about that, so I thought I would start a poll... Yeah...

Hmm... I've never heard of toasted cheese, always grilled. But I say that people can call it whatever they want, as long as they give some to me!

It was always "toasted cheese" when I was growing up. But since I've only seen it described on restaurant menus as "grilled cheese," I've kind of switched. I still kind of use both terms interchangeably.

In my family we call it "cheese toasties"

Butter bread, add moderately thin slices of aged cheddar cheese and then broil till nice and bubbly. Add pepper and welcome to Valhalla.

I have no idea what a toasted cheese sandwhich is. All I could imagine was putting Kraft singles in a toaster and that just seems disgusting, plus a mess, so I had to go with grilled cheese.
