I wore long hair most of my life but within the last few years I cut it very short or even shave my head. I like it this way. However I found ou that going bald is time consuming and expensive if you want tomaintain that shine.

My father promised me that as a "cardero" I wlll never go bald but he never said anything about turning gray. Lately, I have also noticed that men in thier late 20's keep up the habit of shaving their hair closer to the head so as not to give the appearance that they are balding. I do not think that there is anything to be concerned or ashamed about with men who are balding (or graying).

I started going bald at 14.

I used to keep my hair no longer than 1/4 inch, then it was time for a haircut. I got tired of that, and decided to let my hair grow a couple years ago.

I probably won't go completely bald, but thinning hair in women does run in my family. I haven't noticed it happening to me yet, but I know it's just matter of time. Both my mother and her mother have very thin hair now, where they used to have full heads of hair. So, I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I will be the same way as I get older.
Men may not like losing their hair, but most seem to get over it. I think it's worse for women....

I am lucky, I am the original "Brillo Pad" - heavy very dry wiry hair (and, to my horror it tends to curl if I let it grow). That is from my Mum's side of the family too, strangely enough. I don't think I will ever go bald, although the front is receding as the years go (and there's grey in mine too, but it's not noticeable, because it is so light anyway).

My beard turned gray 1st, now it's starting on my head, and got a bald patch on my crown. Why is it when you grow older you lose hair where you once had hair and grow hair where you've never had hair before? (Like out your nose and ears, and you get wild hairs growing an inch a day on your eyebrows!)

Yes, it's genetic.
