Don't know but it's the same feeling I get on the rare occassion I achieve Tao/Gnosis when I'm meditating.

It is therefore hoped that adopting a similar approach here will lead to a simplification of the nebulous subject of dowsing and Earth Energies. This in turn should produce greater insights and, in particular, further comprehension of consciousness, perception and interaction with the Information Field.

Although worldwide there are probably thousands of ancient sites, two typical ones have been selected to illustrate the findings in this section of the article. Examples of the simplest ancient sites without megaliths include Hengistbury Head (in Bournemouth), Wareham Wall and Maiden Castle. (Although these sites are located in Dorset there are numerous other sites elsewhere with similar dowsable fields). These ancient sites have been cited as examples because they are primarily defensive locations as opposed to ritual sites, with the advantage of having no associated megalith architecture and hence being easier to study. Hengistbury Head has an additional advantage in that the double dykes and ditches are in a straight line, (which conveniently runs approximately North/South), whereas most other sites are circular, i.e. the geometry for Hengistbury Head involves linear dowsing patterns, which are simpler to comprehend. Hence Hengistbury Head has been used for illustration and analysis.

The energy at the top of the 'Head' is incredible to experience; take crystals with you, sit and meditate, and you could boil a kettle with the energy that is around that area.

Seyorni: Only if it is magnetic energy, which I dont think it is. More a question for Astrologers, as all ley lines seem to move with Solar/Lunar/star systems.

I don't think they move, there are times when they're stronger/weaker depending on the position of the heavens, but I never found one that moves.

Seyorni, I do think they are geographic, but I have no idea whatsoever where the energy comes from. I think there must be some sort of attraction for energy to these lines. Perhaps gravitational?

When I said move, I meant the direction of their lines.

The French Line Network

In France investigators, have uncovered many line networks involving the main Cathedrals and places of interest. Some have even placed their shapes in harmony to several of the main constellations with sites separated over hundreds of miles. Yet perhaps the most astonishing of the French line networks is one centered on the tiny village of Alaise nestled in the foothills of the Jura mountains of eastern France.

After devoted study by Xavier Guichard this tiny French village was found to be at the centre of a line system that radiated out to include dozens of sites, villages and towns of a similar name through many neighbouring countries over distances that spanned an area of many thousands of square miles. Yet perhaps the most astonishing thing of all was the realisation that this line system must have been initiated and planned thousands of years ago.

Changed view of the ancients.

For many the geometric perfection of ley lines, the distances involved, in addition to the very remote period of their inception hints at a totally different view of the ancient world. In particular it shows the ancients were capable of a masterful degree of geodetic knowledge enabling them to accurately build sites in full alignment, even over hundreds of miles.
