The one I have now (1/13/06) is of the Hindu goddess, Divine Mother. It reminds me of Holy Mary, Mother of God. I do not worship Mary as a god or goddesss, but I do admire her and give thanks to Mary for her intercession with God in the healing of my cancer.

I chose an image of the back of a Martin D-35. It is a special guitar because the back is three peices of wood, and the middle peice is cut differently to highlight the construction. I love Martin guitars!! I have a D-15 and a D-18 and someday I hope to pick up a D-35.
I play every day to relieve stress and worship God. I also play quite a bit in churches. Someday I'd like to build guitars as a hobby or own a guitar shop.

It represents trouble, mischief, joy, laughter, and irritation. This is what I feel about the dog you see in my avatar.
He rips two boards off our fence everyday. I nail more boards up, but he rips down more the next day. Funny thing is that he rips enough boards off so that he could leave, but he never does. He has broken out of every cage and kennal we have ever put him in (and we have bought every kennal that has been on the market, he's too smart). One time, he had to stay at a vet's for the day. He ended up breaking into the cage above him (where there was another dog), then broke out of that cage. When the vet came back, he found the two dogs just hanging out. The vet said he was too much trouble, so they just let him run around. He has broken into our house many times. He broke through one of our sliding glass doors. We replaced it with a solid wall. He lifts the other sliding glass door off the track everyday to break into the house. We got him a chain link dog run to keep him from messing up my in-laws yard when we lived with them. Well, he bent the chainlink up so he could walk through it. My father in-law re-enforced the chain link with heavy metal, but that couldn't hold him. He decided to climb over the fence (fence was 6 feet tall). Once, we left him locked in the bathroom for 20 minutes while we ran an errand (we don't normally leave him in the bathroom), he ate a hole through the door so that he could walk in and out of the bathroom comfortably whenever he wanted. So, I guess you can see where the trouble, mischief, and irritation comes from. On the flip side, he cracks me up all the time. He thinks he is the top dog in the world. He has this sassy type of bark when he's talking to you, as if to say, I'm the man, I'm cool. He usually does this sassy bark while he has a ball in his mouth which even makes me laugh all the more. When my grandmother in-law died last week, and we were upset, he did all sorts of crazy things to make us laugh when we got home. He was total goofball. He took our mind off of the whole situation. He always has a tendency to do that. That's where the laughter and joy comes from.

For those who do not know, I use the Fool from the Tarot pack. This is an explanation of what The Fool represents according to:- http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art24632.asp (excuse the lazyness
)The Fool represents the "everyperson" - the essence of us all embarking on the journey of life, self-discovery and mastery. He is the innocent, the whimsical, the "inner child" mixed with the "inner sage" that lives down deep inside of us all. He faces life and his journey unafraid, trusting, the perfect example of total and utter faith that all will be well, that every experience has a deep essential meaning. He trapses along the crags of life, regardless of any hidden peril or disappointment, his eyes are turned to the heavens and he knows that he will be kept safe and whole along his travels. Key words associated with the Fool are new beginnings, important decisions and optimism. The Fool is the ultimate "Free Spirit" - this card represents the self-actualized person, free from societal constraints, someone who is able to let go of outmoded beliefs and ideals with the courage to pursue their own special path. ![]()

Depicted is Parvathi who is know as the other half of 'Ardha nareeshwara' (ardha = half, nari=female, ishwara=Lord the God.)
Sati devi was shivaji's first wife. She jumped into the sacred fire of the yagna when her husband was insulted by her own father, Daksha Prajapathi. Sati devi was reborn as the mountain Himalaya's daughter, Parvathi. Parvatha means born or from the mountain. She would marry to Shivaji later on. I wish I could post my Avatar larger for you all to see. It is very beautiful with much detail. By the way Ardent Listener, Durga is another name for Divine Mother. ![]() |
