I want to apologise for my post #6 in this thread.
Not because I believe it is wrong but because I think I may have destroyed the purpose of Robs thread by causing those who might have a story to share with him to have reason not to speak of their miracle. I won`t post here again unless directly spoken to and I won`t critique or speak any opinion on anything anyone else posts here. I apparently began typing before I began thinking. I won`t ridcule anyone . My apologies, especially to Rob.

I don't have what I would call a miracle but, others with faith have told me repeatly it is a mircle so maybe I should post it here. When I was 3 years old I incurred an illness that can make young children's throat swell shut. I don't know the name of it but, Lou Ferrigno's son died of this.
I was at home and my mother thinking I had a sore thoat gave me cough medicine. I spit it up cause it was too difficult to swallow and I kept point to my throat and mouthing "can't breathe". I could breathe a little but not so well. At some point I convinced my mother there was a problem and got her things to rush me to the emergency room. But she went into shock and could not operate the car. A neigbor came over and drove us to the hospital where I went straight into surgery and recieved a tracheotomy which saved my life. I remember being really sleepy and wanting to just lay down and go to sleep instead of talking to my mother at one point. If i had gone to sleep it would have been forever. If I had not been able to convince my mother I was in trouble I would have died and if the neigbor (whom sadly I cannot remember) hadn't been there and offered to drive I would have died. Being as they are all ordinary events (as opposed to supernatural ones) I wouldn't call it a miracle but incredible fortune. However, others have told this atheist that God kept me alive that day for a reason. A working example of irony isn't it? |

I like the way Morgan Freeman describes miracles in Bruce Almighty. How parting soup, healing people, etc... are all tricks. A kid saying no to drugs, etc... are miracles.

im not sure if i would call this a miracle, but a couple of years ago, i was walking with two good friends of mine and my dog in the fields round the back of my house
we walked along the paths etc, taking our time, laughing and playing etc we got to a split and we could go up to the top, walk along the road back to the house, or turn round and go back down the paths we chose to go up to the road a careless driver was going at a stupid speed, hit a car that stopped to turn, and literally demolished it! the car going at a stupid speed hit the other car, spun round, and zoomed straight behind us, and i mean, only a few inches behind us if we had taken just 2 more seconds deciding which way to go, or stopped to laugh for 2 more seconds, we would all be dead, no question about it. maybe it was luck, maybe it was fate, maybe it was God........ i don't know
