In the thread regarding my ailing dad, I commented that he is sleeping about 13+ hours a night. I am on the other extreme. I need only 15 minutes to 5 hours a night to be fresh and full of pep. I should also note that I don't really get tired. My record so far is 15 minutes sleep over a 72 hour period. Oh, I am going though male menopause, and have augmented my lack of sleep with extended meditations. No the same thing, of course, but it does mellow me out, with "down time".
So how much time do you spend chasing sheep and sawing logs?

6 to 8 hours... although I'd be much happier with about 12.

It depends. Usually during the weekdays, I sleep 4 to 8 hours. It all depends on how much I have on my mind. I am starting to think that I need less sleep than some people because I lay in my bed for an hour or two just trying to fall to sleep. Maybe my body is telling me that I don't need as much sleep as I am trying to get.
The weekend is a different story. I can sleep till noon on Saturday. I could probably sleep 12 hours total. Saturday night through Sunday morning, I probably sleep 8-10 hours. I would probably also sleep until 12, but I usually get up to go to Church on Sunday morning.

IT all depends for me, especially if I'm in manic or depressive. I need about 7, but only get about 4-6 most of the time.

Before college started up I had a habit of sleeping for about 8 hours over 3 days or so, but I didn't have to do a lot of walking then.
I try to get a more 'normal' sleep schedule now, and usually go to bed about 11:30 or midnight and get up at 6:15. |

I have always been a night person with a bad case of insomnia. I may spend 10+ hours in bed but I wake up often and spend alotof time in a semi-conscious state.
