In this thread, people will create a world. They will make up a world, it's inhabitants, lifeforms, geography, size, continents, even give it a bit of a story. Name your world, and then 1 week from now, I will set up a poll to see who's world was the best! Tell me if this sounds like a stupid idea, however, and I'll just slink back into the shadows.

What goes through my mind is that we live in a perfect world. Everything is as it should be. It's up to me to see that.

You can't tell me that you wouldn't change things if you created a world! For instance, I would like to have different types of human-like creatures. Kind of like a fantasy world. I'd want different races with different characteristics and attributes. There's a lot I would change, to make the world a more mysterious, magical place. Another change would be that I would want the world to be HUGE! I mean HUGE! We've explored the world over already, and I would like to see a lot more to explore. Stuff like that. Create an ideal fantasy world. Sure this one may be perfect, but can't you at least try to improve perfection?

I have found true joy in accepting what is. As it is we have a lot to learn and explore. Reality is more fun than any fantasy.

That's just it. We write our own scripts in everyday life.

Hmmm... What an interesting idea! I like Lightkeeper's insight, though I'm addicted to creating things... so, here goes! (I'll also leave out the spiritual aspects of this potential world, since that could get kind of complicated.)
The world's name is... Megara (I'm sure it's only a tiny coincidence that my real life name is Meggie.) It's a bit like Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, in that it is flat and circular, but unlike that world, which rests on the backs of 4 elephants, who (in turn) stand on a turtle, Megara shall rest on the back of 4 goats. Each of these 4 goats, Iea, Aei, Eia and Iae, have different personalities, and talents. For instance, Iea is gentle, and enjoys gardening, whereas Eia is war-like, and prefers hula-hoops. While these goats have different temperments, they must all get along, since they all reside on the back of a wombat. The wombat constantly sits on a giant drum, which floats along the universe. It is said that if the residents of Megara are ever very unruly, or if the goats don't work out their differences, the wombat will jump on the world-drum, thereby reminding all of the creatures that the wombat has the ability to jump on the drum very hard, which would bounce everyone off. There are 6 main continents in this world, and they are all connected to each of the other continents by a land bridge. Each of these continents has 4 kingdoms, all governed in a different manner. No matter how these kingdoms were ruled (democratically, monarchy, communism, etc.) the citizens of the world would have the choice of moving between them as they wished. Thus, if one of the 4 kingdoms on your continent didn't agree with you, you could travel to one of the other 20 in the world, until you were content. If you still weren't content after that... did I mention there's a lot of islands on the world? Any person could sail out to one of these and start their own community, if they so chose. There are 7 main types of 'sentient' creatures in Megara. Humans, which are fairly like us, air-people, tree-people, flame-people, fey-people, earth-people and water-people. Each creature would share the wisdom of their 'tribble.' (Much more fun to say than 'tribe' or 'people'.) If a person wanted to have an attribute of another tribble, they would stay with them, learn from them, for awhile. Thus, a human could grow wings by studying with the air-people for a bit. As for the flora, every mile there would be a grove of trees that would grow a different type of food. My particular favorite happens to be the "Bucket of Fried Chicken" Oak. (No actual animals or trees would be harmed in the consumption of these tree's fruits.) Megara would have 2 suns, a red one for warmth and a yellow one for light. There would be 3 moons, green, white and blue. Hmm... Should I go on? Or stop while I'm ahead? *grin*

In my world- The sky is indigo and the grass in orange. There is no work and no school. (sounds childish but doesn't everybody wish that?) Every night you can sleep up on the roof, look out at the starry sky and see 3 moons that twinkle.
Everyone is your friend, and life is almost perfect. There are millions of species of inhabitants. The most common are air "people" and water "people." But there are a few special ones- they are supposed to be the sons and daughters of Venus, (not the same as the moon) the lone star. These guys are really strange. They are the voilet-eyed. I'll write more later... |
