You will have to type this address in manually or go to the link provided in post #4 or you can google the name of the car "T-zero" How much would you pay for this car? It goes for about 200,000 dollars. Other than the price, I don't see why a person would not want to own a car like this? I really don't see why people are against fully electric cars. Isn't 300 miles per charge plenty of miles to get you anywhere on a regular basis? Is it that hard to plug in your car every 300 miles? What's the deal? Why do people prefer Hybrids over fully electric cars? I would just about do anythig to own this car. Zero to 60 in 3.6 seconds. What a rush and no oil changes. This car came out a while back. I am amazed that this type of car is not toned down a bit and put into mass production. I would be the first in line to buy it. A more practical version could be easily made, and could be affordable. Do you think that oil companies are actively involved in keeping these cars from going into mass production like gasoline cars. I think Hybrids are a way of easing people into the idea of nonpetrolium based vehicles.
most people have been hearing for years how horrible nongasoline cars are, both the auto and the oil industry have been very successful at this. Sadly you can't just tell people "you should just stop using a gas car and switch to electric" they won't buy it. Tecnology needs to be out there and proven first before many people will switch. Fear of the new in regards to high price items like cars is a practicality. You want to know that the car will be what the makes say it is and not full of expencive to repair problems. Not to mention more practicle issues such as... "will it run as efficiently in my climate?" Thus the Hybrid while not the solution to our problems, is a useful step in the process. wa:do

The link didn't seem to work, but it occurs to me that "fast" is overrated and misunderstood.
Fast is the maximum speed a vehicle can attain. It is achieved by geering and aerodynamics. With good geering and aerodynamics there's no reason a bicycle couldn't achieve 200 mph, but it might take twenty minutes to reach it. Many people confuse speed with quickness -- the time it takes a vehicle to achieve a given speed. A vehicle that reaches 200 mph after a 30 second acceleration is fast, but not quick. A vehicle that achieves 200 mph after five seconds of acceleration is quick. |

For normal driving, 300 miles per charge may seem fine. But what about a long trip? If you are going on a 600 mile trip, do you have the time to stop, find a place to charge, and wait? Probably not. We aren't even setup for such a system. It's not like in the colder climates where most parking areas have outlets to charge the engine heaters that most of those cars are equipped with.
Why do you need to go zero to 60 in 3.6 seconds? |

The worlds fastest production electric car, and its been since updated. The car is over 3 years old, and Ive only seen one on the road.
A very good design that has only gotten better. I couldnt imagine their next project from the ground up.
