Maybe someone can help me with mine.
Actually, it was only part of the dream, but I'll ignore the bit where 20 members of RF were gathered in my mother in law's kitchen waiting for the auction to start at the large white mansion across the road. I was walking through the woods (not the bush...there's a definite difference) following a raven. The raven was hopping along the ground in front of me, turning every now and then to make sure I was following, at which point it would caw at me and then turn and keep going. As I was walking, I heard another caw, and looked over to see another raven perched in a tree. This one was a deep mahogany red colour, except for a black stripe that ran down it's forehead and finished just between the tops of it's eyes. The stripe looked painted on, not like it was naturally occuring. This one flew to me and landed on my left shoulder, at which point the other one proceeded to start leading me again. So in the end I was following the black raven and carrying the red one on my left shoulder, Any ideas? ![]()

Hmm... The raven traditionally leads us into understanding of mystery, and is usually associated with the feminine. The red one was on your left shoulder, which is (again, usually) associated with the feminine, while the black one from your right shoulder flew off and led you.
Did you get the feeling that someone else had painted on the stripe? Perhaps yourself, or someone unseen? Or maybe even the raven itself?

What was your feeling of being led through the woods? Did it provoke any specific or general emotion, like fear, anticipation, or contentedness?
Also, did you get the feeling that these were two seperate birds, or one in two (and maybe more) bodies?

My guess is, like Feathers said, the Raven leading you is leading to a solution to some mystery.
What was the forest like?

There are many different symbolisms associated with the raven in various cultures, so you need to find out what a raven means to you. To do that, take a sheet of paper and write the word raven in the middle, draw a circle around it. Then around the outside of the circle, write down every association you can think of with raven; for example, "Quoth the raven, Nevermore" or "fed the saints in the desert" or whatever comes up for you when you think of raven. Draw another circle around each item and connect it by a line to the circle in the center. By the time you have finished, it is likely that one of these associations will stand out for you. (If anyone would like to know more about this process, read the book Inner Work, by Robert Johnston; he's a Jungian)
If it were my dream, I might think it was telling me to follow a spiritual path based on reason but not to forget to listen to my intuition as well. |
