I would like to know some of the theories athiests use to disprove the theory that there is a God. If you could post info or give me a good site I would be grateful.

Personally, I am not worried about disproving anyone's theories. It wouldn't change their mind anyway, so why bother?

I have personally found Buddhism to be the most effective practice; therefore that is what I continue to do. I prove it to myself, on a daily basis. That is the only proof or disproof I am interested in.

One theory athiests like to use is called common sense... I know this is just a theory to the theists, but its a great one and they should try it sometime! =)

But on a more serious note.... I think most people who are athiest aren't athiest because of any certain theories, but more because of a lack of theories. More percisely a lack of proof...

There is no "theory" that "there is a God". There is an unevidenced claim. Atheists neither possess nor require theories to disprove this claim.

"There is no "theory" that "there is a God"." - no Jay, you are quite right, there is no theory, as far as the believers in a God are concerned, there is indeed no theory; only a certainty.

I am not sure how you would go about disproving the existence of a 'God' - that is like trying to prove that something - or someone that no one can see (or define - for that matter) doesn't exist - I would have thought that as impossible a task as that of a believer in a God proving the existence of a God.

I think atheists would generally put the onus on the believer in God to prove his God's existence (Which is obviously also impossible).

There are philosophical articles that go very far into suggesting that the existence of a God is most unlikely; and Pah is the authority on those - I have seen him using them in debates. He is unfortunately not online at the moment, but I am sure he would point you in the right direction if you PM him.

There is evidence from socio-evolution that lends credence that God - all divinity - is a man-made arrtifact. Infants are born with no innate knowledge of any supernatural being but come to learn of those "beings" from parental and peer teaching.

Hehe, so I am delusional, because I believe in the exitance of a God ? There are an awful lot of delusional people around, you know...............
