Lol, I know a slightly different version of "Song of Mary": My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my savior, for he hath regarded the lowliness of his handmaiden. For behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed, for he that is mighty hath magnified me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him, throughout all generations. He hath showed strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imaginations of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seat and hath exhaulted the humble and meek. He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he hath sent empty away. Glory be unto the father and to the son and to the holy ghost. As it was in the beginning it's now and ever shall be, world without end, amen.
That, of course, may be wrong... it was a song we did in school, so the writer might have taken some... artistic liberties :P

Old Norse for "Judge". (Which is funny, to me at least, because the name I was given means "God is my judge". I hadn't noticed this until afterwards...and the name drew me in like a moth to flame, and then it felt like a man and his skin.)
Also, I remember I used to accidentally say Domari a lot, found out that Domari is a language/sect (I believe language?) of Gypsies in the Middle East/Jerusalem.

What a fascinating topic!
I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a shamanism workshop awhile back. While performing my first medicine wheel, I felt called to put the feathers I'd been holding in my hands into my hair, threading them in like decorations. I loved the way they felt, letting me experience being stately and self-possessed when I'm normally as 'grounded' (to use the esoteric term) as a butterfly, hehee! (Most who've met a butterfly would agree that it has many good qualities, but being grounded isn't one of them.) I stepped out of the medicine wheel a new woman- or I should say, one whom I'd been before. When I got back to meet with the group, I asked if any of them had been drumming, as I'd thought I'd heard drumming in the woods as I'd walked back. Everyone said that, no, participating in their own wheels, none had been near any drums. Jerry, our leader, smiled and said "Maybe it was the Spirits, celebrating the beauty of the woman with feathers in her hair." I raised my hand to my head and realised that I hadn't taken out the feathers, and also realized I didn't want to, either. I wore them the rest of the day, reclaiming my power. It was only after the next few months that I discovered that it was traditional in some Native American tribes for women to wear feathers as adornments in their hair. In the next workshop, after a rather intense sweatlodge, I was able to tell everyone my 'true' name, my spirit name, was "Feathers in Hair". And, since this is a spiritual forum, I thought, what better place to use my true name? |

I simply hears a song and thought it was beautiful
We are the lucky ones We shine like a thousand suns When all of the colour runs together I'll keep you company In one glorious harmony Waltzing with destiny forever Dance me into the night Underneath the full moon shining so bright Turning me into the light Time dancers whirling past I gaze through the looking glass And feel just beyond my grasp is heaven Sacred geometry Where movement is poetry Visions of you and me forever Dance me into the night Underneath the full moon shining so bright Turning me into the light Dance me into the night Underneath the full moon shining so bright Let the dark waltz begin Oh let me wheel - let me spin Let it take me again Turning me into the light |
