Default Nonspecific gender pronouns
What do you guys think of pronouns like zie/sie, hir, ve, etc? (an article on Wikipedia, for those unaware of them) As someone who has non/transgender friends who seem to enjoy it, I don't see a problem with it... though some people say it's PC-ness at its worst.

Opinions?

I'm about as politically uncorrect as they come , without getting rude . So ? What is wrong with implying gender ? We all have one . Ok , a few may have two ??? But what about the French ? Le and La and all of that ? Are they going to rewrite the whole language ?

Seriously . Isn't this going a little too far ? It would be easier just to neuter everyone and call them " it ". Personally I think that I would perfer that , as I am an " it ". I have no idea what a " sie " is .

When used wisely, as in not for the wrong reasons it can be find, I have never revealed my gender, I don't think I need to, I feel more comfortable being neutral than any specific one. THough I don't agree with 50 year old paedophiles pretending to be little girls or whatever, I don't have a problem with being vague about your gender in general, I defy any of you to find a post of mine where I have revealed my gender, it doesn't mean what I have to say is any less important, I just don't want it getting out because I don't feel it to be appropriate.

I notice you prefer to keep your gender undisclosed Crystal Red; I must admit I cannot understand that (But I presume it is because I am 'Genderly happy' (if that exists! ). I also see that you seem to like the idea, Jamaesi - The only way I can 'understand' that is because you wish to be associated with neither sex, which of course, I tend to find a shame - just an emotional reaponse, I suppose, from a heterosexual man........I don't make sense, do I ?
