I think most people think of the unlabelled as male, simply because of Christianity labelling God as a man when technically he's neither, it's just easier to talk to a face, even if you make the face up.

It would be incorrect to call somebody with no gender or physical aspects of both genders by either male or female pronouns so I guess they are necessary. I don't view this as being politically correct but simply by being correct. I wouldn't call a man, a woman, so what is the difference here. There are five recognised genders, existing in humans at least. I don't know whether seperate pronouns should be used for each. Using genderless pronouns would be far easier.

Being an "androgyne" online is much more acceptable in our society than it is in person. When people do not know how to gender lable you in person, they will often become very upset and even angry.

I tend to think of many unlabelled as male because I am male . I assume that if I were female , I would identify with these things as such ? People I tend to think of as people first , gender second ... actually that applies to most things , not just people .

I notice you prefer to keep your gender undisclosed Crystal Red; I must admit I cannot understand that (But I presume it is because I am 'Genderly happy' (if that exists![img]images/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] ). I also see that you seem to like the idea, Jamaesi - The only way I can 'understand' that is because you wish to be associated with neither sex, which of course, I tend to find a shame - just an emotional reaponse, I suppose, from a heterosexual man........I don't make sense, do I ?

I just really don't care about gender. I'm female, yeah, big deal. I'm otherkin (hahah!) and my "character" is neuter.

I think that having a genderless pronoun for those who don't identify that much with their gender or to be more inclusive would be nice (like in situations like "Everyone got his/her book" -it would be shorter, too.)

I have no Idea why people get hung up on gender tags.
To me HE SHE IT are just a convenience, They say it how it is.
I can see no reason to change it.
