Hey, brother, I know how you feel. I'm in Florida, and there seems to be no escape from the heat and humidity. Sticky, Hot, yuck!! Here are some ideas. I have a squirt bottle I use sometimes. They even have some that have fans on them (very cool!). Something you could do right now is get a washcloth, or handtowel wring it out and put it in the freezer for a few minutes. Then get the freezing cold towel and wrap it on your neck, or on your head.

My body is adapted to cold weather, from where I live. Whenever we go somewhere hot, I practically die. Most of the summer is spent in my room downstairs, where i's semi-cool, or in an air-conditioned car. The Valley of Kings in Egypt was horrible.
The only tip I have for you is to drink freezing water.

Stay very, very still if you can. If you can't, get something cold to carry around with you and wear very thin clothes that breathe easily.

The best method is to get into a pool (or lake, river, etc.). That will lower your core temp down faster than anything. A cool bathtub works also. Usually 10-15 minutes cools me down enough that I stay cool for at least a couple hours....if I don't move around too much.
You can also wipe yourself down with a cool cloth while sitting in front of a fan.

Run around completely naked. It will be funny for everyone, especially me.
Seriously though, my ma says that frozen peas work wonders. She's been using the same pack for over a year now. |

The best clothing to wear is thin white linen. Don't wear anything dark colored, especially if you're in the sun. If you don't have linen, wear something that says '100% cotton' If you're going to be in the sun, the best thing to wear is long-sleeved, thin white linen. You won't burn easily, and you'll stay cool.
When doing things like washing your hands, use lukewarm water as opposed to cold water. If you use cold water, it makes the rest of your body feel hotter in comparison. Stay underground, and in houses/rooms that are shaded by trees. Much of your body heat is lost through your head and feet - cut your hair (but not so short your head will burn! ) and go barefoot . Good luck!

What I do is I convince myself that I need to sweat as much as possible for a few days. I go outside, get active, sweat up a storm! Then I make sure I allways stay hydrated. You will sweat a lot, but before you know it, you will be well adapted and you will enjoy the heat. You may aswell, its just begun.
