Default Does anyone else think The Simpsons has lost it's touch?
Over the past two or three season, it appears the show has nothing more to say, it seems to be more about getting celebrity voices rather then a cracking script.

What do you think?

Never. I think it's gotten funnier if anything. Every Sunday from 8 pm - 10 pm Pacific Time is an event for me. Comes the Simpsoms, The Family Guy, and American Dad. They're funny as hell and to me in a different way now that i'm 17. Before it was just the obvious stuff now I get the deeper side of things that they parody and such. The greatest Cartoon ever made IMO.

I think the scathing satire has been replaced with blandness, unfortunately.
I slightly dissagree with it being the greatest cartoon as well.

To my horror, my wife seems to be enjoying the simpsons. The reason I cannot watch it is that we bought the children (as they were then) an Amiga Computer for Christmas one year, and the game they received with it was a simpsons game. To this day I cannot go through Christmas without tensing myself for another onslaught of 'Eat my shorts!'

I think futurama was great. "You will be sentenced to 2 years in insane robot asylum for the worst of all crimes, theft of MONEY!". The quote isnt accurate, the thats the message anyways. Its a great show, I think they stopped doing it.

The Simpsons is holding on, yea. But, how many hundred episodes can you possibly dream up and write, before the zing is just gone from an adult humor cartoon series.
