The internet is a massive place, as I'm sure many of you are aware, and it would take a lifetime to explore it all if not longer. So this thread is designed to cut down on a lot of the grunt work and encourage users to post links to sites which they feel everyone could gain something from visiting. This might be because they are a fountain of unbiased knowledge, a useful tool or program or just something fun and relaxing to do.
I'll start off by posting a few sites to give you guys an idea of the kind of thing I'm getting at but I'd be really interested to see what gems some of the RF members have come across. www.religioustolerance.org : A site which gives a detailed synopsis of almost all beliefs in existence. Their aim is to increase dialogue, and thereby tolerance, between religions, and so try and approach all of their articles with as much objectivity as possible. They also have a number of articles on "hot topics" such as abortion or homosexuality as well as a forum of which I used to be a member till I got addicted to this place. www.politicalcompass.org : This site attempts to redefine the political map by expanding the standard left-right line into a two dimensional graph. It is wonderful concept that, in my opinion, is much better than similar attempts. They also have a quiz with well thought out questions that will show you where you are on the map as well as an analysis of the most recent US and UK elections and a worldwide political leaders map. www.nationstates.org : As far as a political site goes, this leans far more on the game side of things. Basically you get to run your own country and are faced with political decisions on a daily basis that affect the course of your country. You can be anything from a Liberal Socialist Paradise (like me ) to a Facist Enviromentalist Dictatorship. Also there is the option to join a UN and vote on proposals that will affect all UN members. A 2nd version of the game with more features is supposed to be coming out in the not too distant future but it will cost as opposed to this version which is free.Anyway those are the main ones I can think of at the moment so lets see what everyone else comes up with .
