I went to the forest today. YAY!!!!!!
Here are some pics I took from Linn Run State Forest, and Forbes Park State Forest today. Enjoy.

Here is one of a beautiful waterfall.
 Here is one of a little 3 tiered waterfall that I'm going to turn into a brush painting.  Here is one of cool tree roots along the stream's edge. (Legend says fairies live in these types of roots.)  And here is one of the path we hiked on.

Nice pix, MV.
I live in the woods, so going there doesn't require a special trip. A co-worker in Anchorage needed to get rid of some firewood, so I "helped" him out by hauling some off for him. Here are some pix I took at 10:10pm as I was leaving the property....  another:

That is a Purple Trillium , MV . It smells a little like rotten meat ? Unpleasent smell at lest ? They are quite rare in Nova Scotia , protected I believe . Haven't seen one since moving west .
Glad that you had a good time .  BTW I encountered my first frog of the season today . { actually yesterday , but I haven't been to bed yet **.

I thought it smelled good. But of course, everything smells good to me.

The smell never bothered me much neither .
But my father hated it . Anywho , I'm sure that it is a Trillium . There are White ones too . Perhaps they are the ones with the stronger smell ? It has been awhile . But they have a very distinctive look .

Beautiful photos, Master Vigil. I grew up surrounded by acres upon acres of woods, and those pics remind me very much of my childhood ramble spots. I am an avid lover of forests. They are serene, enchanting, magical, beautiful, and full of enticing mystery. I often take a ramble through woods when I want to talk to God---I feel somehow closer to Him in a 'sylvan palace.'
