Default What kind of a bed do you have/like?

Tim and I broke down and decided to buy a new mattress. He's been complaining about our current one for a while and I just never thought about how bad it was getting. We're getting one of those memory foam mattresses with the "cloud" pillow top. OMG it is so comfy. Can't wait for it to get here (have to wait a few days to get in right size).

So, anyone else have the tempur-like beds? Or do you prefer regular springs or maybe the sleep-number type beds? I've had springs for so long I just might not know what I'm missing.

edit: Well shoot, only noticed the extra "you" instead of the "do" I intended in the title after I posted. Annoys me when I make stupid mistakes like that.

After paying a hefty sum for ours, a pillow-top, (more than I had thought necessary) I say; you get what you pay for. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Oh yes, a genuine down comforter (duvet) is the only way to go if you live in snow country.

I actually just ordered a new pretty bedspread for it yesterday. Have a couple nice comforters, but kinda missed having a bedspread and need something bigger anyway as the new mattress has a good 3 to 4 inches more depth to it than our current one.

I just wasn't putting together my having my neck and upper back/shoulders sore more frequently with the fact that my bed is so soft and weak. Honestly, the slightest stir bounces the whole dang bed.

I got a used Serta. Had to get something because a full sized bed is uncomfortable for two people to sleep on. I want a memory foam, but that will be later on when I can actually afford one.

We have a firm mattress. I wish I could get a memory foam or maybe one of those mattresses that Lindsay Wagner sells (sleep number, I think).

I have an 8 year old bed that's too expensive to replace, so I use a 4" memory foam topper. The topper makes it feel like a brand new bed. Its amazing. You can get the 4" King size toppers from overstock.com for around $120-140. Its really worth the investment and tons cheaper than a whole mattress. Oh and it comes with 2 memory foam pillows!

I've never had anything but a spring mattress. Our current bed is the one that my wife had from before we got married; I have no idea what brand it is, but I know it doesn't have any fancy pillow-tops or the like. It's fine by me.
